Nowadays people have achieved and are still achieving incredible results in science and high technology. Last century, people began to explore space in detail. This task turned out to be a very difficult and expensive aspiration and gave rise to a lot of controversy as many people considered it a waste of money and time. In my opinion, space exploration is worth all the costs. First of all, studying the galaxy, people invent things that can later be applied on Earth, set up experiments that are problematic or impossible to be set on Earth. Secondly, now we can predict and try to prevent possible threats from space such as giant meteorites. I also want to say that a modern man tends to strive for knowledge, he wants to know everything, but space is empty in his view. It is worth mentioning that resources on Earth are not infinite and when we run out of them, in the space we could replenish their lack. After all, we don't know what we'll run into while exploring the space. Columbus also did not know that he would discover a new continent. Maybe we will be lucky and we will suddenly find something that will change the habitual course of our life. On the other hand, this money can be spent on more important and urgent issues. Indeed, people die in large numbers from various diseases, in some countries even from hunger, environmental pollution shortens the life expectancy of billions of people. In addition, there are many topics for research on Earth. Some people say that space exploration in such conditions is unnecessary and even unwise. But I think that the amount of money spent on space exploration is not that huge for such an unexplored and thoroughly researched field of science: for example, in the leader in space exploration, the United States, less than 10 percent of all expenses on science is spent in this field. To sum up, I want to say that we should continue to spend money on space research, but also not forget about the problems on Earth.
