My Art School Experience

My name is Sasha, and I’m in 3rd grade at an art school. Every week I enjoy drawing, painting and learning new things.

In classes we use pencils, watercolors, gouache and even pastels! First off all, the teacher explains how to sketch, mix colors or add shadows. Sometimes we draw still lifes with fruits or flowers. My favorite part is when we get to create whatever we imagine.

Our teachers are kind and patient. They help us improve and show us famous artists’ works. My classmates are nice too—we support each other and never laugh at mistakes.

My favorite artists are:

Van Gogh – his starry skies and sunflowers are amazing!

Leonardo da Vinci – he painted the Mona Lisa and was a scientist too.

Ivan Shishkin – his forest landscapes are so peaceful.

Vasily Vereshchagin was born in my town - Cherepovets! He is a brilliant artist.

It lets me express myself, learn and have fun. Even if a drawing doesn’t turn out perfect, I keep trying. My mom hang my art at home, which makes me proud.

One day I hope to be a real artist! In the future, I want to continue my art studies at prestigious art school and academy in my native city - St. Petersburg where were made so many famous arts .
